Weekends are supposed to be relaxing. S doesn’t have to go to work and we kind of have a slow day. Since, I work from home, I always seize the opportunity to work on the weekend. But, at the same time, I have a million other things I need to get done on my laptop like uploading latest pictures, writing a post, reading other blogs, news etc.
So, the past weekend, I wanted to relax as much as possible and get some sleep. But, we had so many chores to do. So, I decided to focus on all the stuff I needed to get done and not procrastinate. I am very good at procrastination. I love to sit with my laptop and forget about the world. So, on the weekend, I purposefully did not touch my laptop. I mean I actually did, but for a very short amount of time. So, the end result was, I was done with all my laundry and house cleaning on Saturday. Saturday night, I did sit with the laptop for a while to research on tonsilitis (maybe another post) and then slept a little late. Thanks to Sarath, I was up at 6:30 Sunday morning. ( I would have loved to sleep for a little longer :() Surprisingly enough, S was also awake by 7:00AM. We finished cooking by 9:00 AM and then went biking for around 5 miles. It was very nice although my legs were killing me.
After a nice lunch, I relaxed for a while and then it was time for my dance class. Yes, I joined Bharatanatyam classes and last Sunday was my first class. After all this, we had time for a nice dinner, kitchen cleanup and I was in bed by 10:00 PM. It was amazing.
It wasn’t easy to go without my laptop the whole weekend. I got bored sometimes. I reminded myself of all the other things that I need to finish or catch up on and just forced myself to do them. It did feel much better at the end. I am planning to do this every weekend. But, for that to happen, I need to work extra hard on the weekdays. Hopefully, I will be able to put aside my laptop on the weekends and get some time for sewing, scrap-booking or spend some extra time with Sarath 🙂
Woow quite an accomplishment!! DFor us it is the TV, we watch movies etc and a lot of tv programs, maybe I should cut that out 🙂
Bharatanatyam yeh! chala good good and looks like you accomplished a lot during weekend, not just with laptop but with home and fun kada!
Yes I did. 🙂
Yeah..I do follow same mantra of Internet-LESS weekends always..I have list of things to finish up on weekends..my weekend nap is the no 1 priority though 😉
Bharatnatyam classes..wow lady..you are pursuing your hobbies..keep it going !
Weekend naps are wonderful 🙂
I always wanted to learn dance and I thought, if I wait any longer, I might not be able to learn it. So, I jumped in.
OOohhh internetless weekends…not that’s a concept, i should explore…procastination is one of my finer points too 😀
I try really hard not to touch my laptop on the weekends. It is not entirely possible. Internet is my biggest weakness now (especially after I started blogging :)).
Thanks for visiting. Hope to see you around!
I think that’s a good plan! I do this on and off, depending on what’s happening at home. I also feel it’s good – also ensures that while we love the internet we are not really addicted 🙂
Totally agree with you 🙂
The yellow flowers in the header look beautiful!!!
Thank you!
